HOCKEY N HEELS will return to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Thursday, November 19th!! I have had the pleasure of participating in this event since it began three years ago. If you're a female hockey fan...trust me...you don't want to miss out.

The fourth annual HOCKEY N HEELS will feature instructional sessions and on-ice demonstrations for women who want to get up-close-and-personal with the sport and players. It's a terrific way for new fans to learn more about hockey and the team. It's also perfect for seasoned fans to get hands-on lessons from some of their favorite players and coaches. I hear Coach Bruce Boudreau will be attending the event again this year (his session was one of the favorites last year). You can also expect to see former Capital Peter Bondra and several current players.

Check-in for the event start at 5:30pm...with the actual sessions running from 6-9pm. There will be FIVE total sessions at Kettler. The first session will be an on-ice demonstration, where you will be taught the fundamentals of hockey. In the second session, you will learn about the various forms of equipment. You'll actually get a chance to try on some of the equipment to see what it feels like to carry around 20-pounds of gear! It’s certainly something to keep in mind when you’re yelling at your favorite players to HUSTLE on the ice! LOL.

The third session is Hockey 101 "Chalk Talk". It will cover the rules of the game, followed by a short Q & A with Capitals alumni. The fourth session will feature Coach Boudreau. He will help you understand how to dissect and analyze different aspects of the game. This was a fan favorite last year because many women found the Coach to be both entertaining and informative! The fifth and final session will be another on-ice 45-minute demonstration. All sessions are subject to change.

This year the event sold out in 30 minutes, but tickets will be given away on Mix 107.3 during the Carson and Chilli show every day from 3-7 pm.
